FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?

90 minutes typically. But not all of it will be used for picture taking. We want to take as much time as we can to have you feel comfortable and at ease. Remember, we're interested in making your portrait as authentic as possible.

Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE SHOOT?

You could keep everything simple and show up for the session with just two changes of wardrobe. Or, you could spare nothing in planning a themed shoot and come with a trunk full of props. Bring along the family's Scottish Fold or arrive on your prized fold-up scooter. Just use the booking form to you let us know what you have in mind. Then perhaps, we could suggest what and how we could go about making your portrait even more interesting.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We strongly advise against putting on apparel that present too much contrast (eg. black and white). It's always a good idea to bring a few more pieces on the day of your shoot so that you will have more options.

Q: IS GROOMING PROVIDED DURING THE SHOOT?

We can arrange for someone to be present should you require grooming on-set for a small fee. Otherwise, you should be fine with just a comb, face towel, some blotting paper and some hair styling product. If you are thinking of a haircut, we would advise you to have it at least a fortnight prior to the shoot for it to grow out.

Q: CAN WE HAVE OUR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHED ON LOCATION?

Yes. Again, mention this in your booking form as we would probably like to scout out the location's lighting conditions and picture possibilities prior to the session. Some places may require special permission while others may forbid it all together. In our experience, always check to see if photography is permitted in advance.

Q: WHAT IF I NEED TO POSTPONE OR CANCEL THE SESSION THAT I BOOKED?

You have up to 72 hours prior to your booking to request for a postponement. This comes at no extra charge. But the rescheduling of your session will be subject to availability.

If a cancellation is received in writing more than 72 hours prior to a booking, we will gladly give you a refund less an administrative and handling fee (equivalent to 10% of the amount you paid). However, there will be no refunds made available for no-shows, as well as, cancellations that take place within 72 hours of a booking.

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHS DO WE GET AT THE END OF THE DAY?

You could walk away totally enamoured with one particular image, or, take a fancy to every other photograph. It really depends. All we can say is that there will be an ample number of images to sift through and choose from. Deliverables vary with packages, so do write us to check.

Q: When will I get to see the photographs that were taken?

You'll get a quick overview at the end of your session. After you leave, we usually spend a few days looking at the pictures to pick the best ones. Then we will crop and upload them onto a password protected online proofing gallery where you'll be able to view the photos. This within a fortnight of your shoot. The number of shortlisted and shown will vary from session to session.

Q: HOW CAN WE HAVE PRINTS MADE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS?

The online proofing gallery that we'll direct you to has a shopping cart feature where you can place orders for prints. There, you can choose the size, paper type, as well as, the quantity of prints to be made.

Q: CAN I PRINT THE PHOTOGRAPHS MYSELF?

Yes. While you're able to make prints from the digital files at home or at a mini-lab, we strongly recommend against it. If you do so, we cannot make any guarantees whatsoever for print quality, tonal and colour accuracy. We suggest that you order the prints from us. Because we and our partners (retouchers and printers) are extremely particular with delivering photographs that are colour correct and showcase all the details that have been captured.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY PRINTS/DIGITAL FILES TO BE DELIVERED?

Post-production work on selected images will begin as soon as your order and payment is received. They will be retouched and printed by experts who care a lot about producing work that has a high quality of finish. This process including delivery will take between four to six weeks.

Q: WILL WE BE ABLE TO HAVE ALL THE UN-RETOUCHED/RAW IMAGES TAKEN DURING THE SESSION?

No, we don't release un-retouched photographs. But if you'd like to own the entire set of the images uploaded onto the proofing gallery in high-resolution, you can purchase them at a special buyout price. This price, made available upon request, will include their retouching and delivery via download or on recordable disc media.
